Kidlington FC news

This Saturday FTL Futbol Hellenic Premier Division side Kidlington FC travel just up the Oxford ring road to take on Zamaretto League Premier Division side Oxford City FC in an FA Cup first qualifying round tie at Court Place Farm, K.O. 3-00 PM.

Kidlington spokesman Simon Dickens's said after Kidlington's excellent victories against Abingdon Town and Toton & Eling in the previous rounds that "everyone involved with the club is really looking forward to this match, and it's made all the better as this is the furthest Kidlington have ever progressed in this country's premier cup competition in this our centenary season".

Kidlington Manager Gordon Geary added "the lads have done me and the club proud during our cup run and we will go into the match in good form and as underdogs we will play with the freedom of a team that has nothing to prove. I have a good squad of young players here and we will go there to play football, so you never know what can happen, in the end of the day it's only a game of 11 against 11".

Last week Kidlington secured a super 6-1 bank holiday win against Hook Norton, they then followed it up by taking a more than creditable 2 - 2 draw, with a depleted squad away to high flying Bristol based outfit Almondsbury Town.

Kidlington have also been busy with off-pitch activities bringing in two new players. The first of these is Jordan Parker a midfield player  who has transfed in from Zamaretto league side North Leigh, secondly the Yarnton Road club have captured the signature of Ben Willoughby a solid defender or midfield player who was with fellow Hellenic Premier side Old Woodstock Town.

Parker is unfortunately ineligible for Saturday's match with City because he has played in an earlier round of the competition for his previous club and is cup tied, however Willoughby will come straight into the squad.

Also back in the squad are the inspirational pair of Mark Baker and Kieran Sanders along with James Philpott, Jack Quainton and Tom Hayday. Geary has also added Ross Gray after the young midfielder has regained his fitness after sustaining an injury in early pre-season.

KFC Squad - TOM McNAMARA, ROB HAMLING, DANNY LEGGETT, CHRIS WEEDON, JAMES PHILPOTT, JERRY KAPRAL, BRAD CHALMERS, JACK QUAINTON, JACK JOHNSON, JAMIE DEBANKS, LEWIS COYLE, DARREN McNAMARA, KEIRAN SANDERS, ADAM LOVEGROVE, MARK BAKER, JIMMY DEABILL, ROB JOHNSON, RICHARD NORRIS, ROSS GRAY, TOM HAYDAY & BEN WILLOUGHBY.
