KFC Saturday Match News

This Saturday FTL Futbol Hellenic Premier side Kidlington entertain title contenders Shortwood United at Yarnton Road for a league match, K.O. 3-00 PM.

Kidlington have drawn their last 2 league matches and know that this match against Shortwood is going to be a stiff test for their young side. Kiddy were 2 up at half time in the week against local neighbours Woodstock only to take their foot off the gas and let the visitors back into the match and in the end it finished all square.

For the Shortwood match Kidlington will give a late fitness test to Mark Baker. Baker was not fit enough to play in midweek since he was injury at Slimbridge, however Kidlington Assistant Manager Keith Appleton is hopeful that given the extra recovery time Baker will be OK for this one.

Also on the way back is central defender Brad Chalmers who has been out for over a month with afoot injury. Chalmers is due to play for the Reserves this weekend and Appleton said " It will be great to have Brad back but we can't afford to rush things, the injury was far worse than we thought at the time and he is probably coming back a week ahead of schedule, so we will just have to see how it goes?"
